Susanta Talukdar, is a highly talented and promising tabla player groomed under the guidance of Legandary Pandit Anindo Chatterjee of the Farrukhabad Gharana. His earliest lessons in tabla was from his first Guru Shri Haradhan Dutta at the tender age of 8 years. Later, for five years, he also took lessons in table from his Guru Mallar Ghosh.

Susanta secured 1st class both at the Post Graduate and Graduate level in Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He completed his Post Graduation in Tabla in the year 2005. He started his career as a solo percussionist. He joined as a Principal Teacher as well as Tabla Guru at The ‘Shakhri Begum Memorial Trust’, an Academy of Hindustani Classical Music founded by Ustad Rashid Khan. He continued this journey under the blessings of Ustad Rashid Khan for almost a decade.

He has also accompanied many distinguished vocalists & instrumentalists such as Pandit Vijay Kichlu, Vidushi Subhra Guha, Ustad Rashid Khan, Vidushi Purnima Chowdhury, Haimanti Shukla in multiple concert performances and workshops.
He has also performed in different Television shows like Jalsaghar , Aaj Sakaler Amontron, Gurukul at Tara Music, Doordarshan Kendra (DD- Bangla), Kolkata. He is also a graded artist of the All India Radio. He won the prestigious HMV Golden Talent (All Bengal Music Competition) award in 1997. He also won the Award for Excellence (as a Principal Teacher of SBMT and Gold Medal / Certificate from the Managing Trustee of SBMT- Ustad Rashid Khan).
